Basic characteristics:With a planning area of 8.67 square kilometers, New Jiangwan City Community is located in the northeast of the downtown Shanghai, and is considered as the only natural "emerald" in the city. The community spares no efforts in highlighting six features of "water network, greening coverage, knowledge community, transit-oriented development, environmental protection system and living space", and actively creates an "international, ecological and intelligent" cultural community. In terms of community building, an ecologically livable environment, which features integration of a multi-layer greening system, water system and ecological architectures, takes shape; in terms of community management, under the government-led multi-body community co-governance model, some innovations have been made in terms of the network management model, the provision of community services by introducing social organizations and the household garbage classification & collection, so as to integration of university campuses, public communities, sci-tech parks.
