The concentrated historical buildings are complete in features, diverse in styles and profound in cultural background, being praised as "the most dazzling pearl" in modern architectures in Shanghai.
Xuhui District undertook the repairing work in a gradual and innovative manner, encouraging participation from multiple parties. After years of efforts, it established a standardized and sophisticated historical building information archive system. Now, it aims to carry out planning in a refined manner, effectively enhancing awareness of residents on historical buildings protection, and achieving historic change from unit protection to overall protection.
